Team history
When Kelly was 11 years old, she gave up gymnastics and started curling with her
brother and dad, who taught her the technical skills of the sport. In 1991, she
played lead for Jill Staub's Manitoba Team and earned her first title as Silver
Medallist at the Canadian Juniors at age 13. In 1995, Kelly teamed up with
Sasha and represented Manitoba and Canada, as they won their first championship
together as the Gold Medallists at the Canadian and World Juniors.
In 2002, Team Scott was formed with Renee Simons, Sasha Carter, Jeanna Schraeder
and skip Kelly Scott of Kelowna, B.C. This is their sixth curling season
together and they have definite plans to continue their journey together,
leading up to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and beyond.
2007 marked a banner season for Team Scott, as they repeated as Scotties
Tournament of Hearts Champions and then improved upon 2006’s World Bronze by
winning Gold at the 2007 Worlds in Aomori, Japan. They hope these experiences
can serve them well as they pursue their ultimate goal at this time - to
represent Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in their home province of BC.
JVC is proud to sponsor and support Team Canada this season as they continue
their pursuit of excellence and their Olympic curling dreams.
